As we are winding down with our Tapestry of Grace Unit 3 and wrapping things up, we are beginning a literature study on the Wizard of Oz and then planning to see the new Disney movie Oz the Great and Powerful on March 8th. Incase you haven't seen the preview for it, here it is... We began by reading the first 7 chapters this week and we discovered that the book is a little different than the original Judy Garland movie! :oP We are definitely enjoying it though! We are using a literature unit study we created, The Wonderful Study of Oz, which is currently on sale. This week we learned about the differences between a cyclone and a tornado and found a website with some great tornado information here. Goosey made a cute mini scarecrow using a section of an old pair of jeans (original instructions here) that she is placing in our pineapple potted plant! And she made a floatable mini raft out of corks!
