Rosey will continue on with Classical Conversations and will begin Challenge 1 in the fall. She is very excited to be going back to all her friends and classmates and is looking forward to the challenges it brings!
Goosey and Speedy will continue on with Tapestry of Grace Year 3. We have really enjoyed the 2 units we have completed. This time we will be starting from the first unit (we started TOG for the first time this past Jan and started with unit 3) so I am hoping to get things a little more organized throughout the summer so it will be easier throughout the year. That will be our spine so to speak, and I will continue to add "extras" as I have done this past year so I'm excited to start planning for the year! For our bible study we will continue onwards with the Picture Smart Bible Program.
Goosey will continue with Math U See with Pre-Algebra. For her science I went back and forth on what to do. I originally wanted her to start with Apologia General Science so she would be on their schedule of finishing their upper level science courses but then decided against that. We have been using all of Jeannie Fulbright's elementary sciences throughout our homeschool years and have truly enjoyed them all! A new release (Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics) is scheduled to come out in June so I decided to go ahead and have Goosey complete that for the fall school year. I know many websites will discourage doing this (completing the elementary books in 7th grade), but that is the route we are going. We have covered many aspects of science many, many times throughout our school years so we are definitely not lacking in science but only briefly touched on chemistry and physics so I am anxious to get her started on this new science book as I think she will enjoy it!
Speedy will finish up Math U See Algebra 2 over the summer and then start up with Math U See PreCalculus. For science he will be starting Apologia Biology. For his electives he chose computer programming. He completed their Teen Coder course and is excited to start the Java one! And Italian as a foreign language. We will be using Rosetta Stone for that.
I plan on continuing our countries study with Map Travelers during the summer and doing some short unit studies as well. I am sure as the school year draws closer and as I begin my planning for the coming school year, I will be adding little things here and there as they fit with what we're doing!
