somewhat organized! I have scheduled out our school into weeks and placed
them into file folders so all I need to do is grab the folder for the week and
place the items the kids need into their binders. This is the first year
that I have done this so I am really hoping that it will make our school year
run a little smoother! What I need to do next is compile my own
binder/folders of movies that I would like to correlate with the topics and any
other additional activities and projects that I find and would like to do.
I know I posted about our curriculum choices for this coming school year but I ended up changing some things as we draw closer to the school year. So our "final" curriculum choices are...
Speedy
Tapestry of Grace Year 3
We enjoyed this program for our spring semester so we plan on continuing to the next level. This will be our spine for history and I plan on adding other "extras" and branching out as we go along as I did the last school year.
Math U See Algebra 2
Speedy didn't finish this over the summer as I had anticipated since our summer has been a bit busy so we will just continue along where we left off.
One Year Adventure Novel
Speedy will be using this as his writing course and will go through it for the year.
Apologia Biology
He is excited to start this course! We have a microscope to go along with the labs and I am hoping to get the zoology coloring book that I heard works great with this program!
Rosetta Stone Italian
Foreign Language requirement.
Java Computer Programming
He has gone through their other computer programming courses and has enjoyed them all so this will just be a continuation.
Explorer Bible Study Quest
I have been looking at these for a few years now and showed them to Speedy. He liked what he saw from their samples so we are going to give it a go this semester.
Rosey
Classical Conversations Challenge 1
She is really enjoying the program and the friends she has made there so Rosey will just continue on their program with this next level.
Goosey
Tapestry of Grace Year 3
This year Goosey will be in the dialect stage but I am going to have her hover over both upper grammar and dialect since she is my hands on learner.
Map Travelers
We didn't get a chance to finish our study of the countries this summer as other things have taken priority. The kids definitely asked to continue though so we will just pick up where we left off. In the process of learning about the countries, we have even made a list of places to see if we ever travel in those areas!
Math U See Pre Algebra
Goosey is just continuing onto the next level
Cover Story
I am SO excited to see what this curriculum has to offer! Goosey is definitely a reluctant writer with frequent comments of "I can say everything I need to say in 1 or 2 sentences, not 5 paragraphs" so I am really hoping this is a good fit for her.
Exploring Creation with Chemistry and Physics
We have done a pretty good job in covering science over the years but one area we never really covered in depth like I wanted to is Chemistry and Physics so I am excited to see this coming out as we have really enjoyed her other books in the series.
Microscope Adventures
Since Speedy is working on Biology with a microscope lab, I found this book at a local used curriculum sale so I jumped at it! Goosey loves looking at things under the microscope so this will give her a chance to utilize it right along with Speedy but with her own project book.
Disciple Land and It Couldn't Just Happen
The Disciple Land workbooks have been passed down to us so I plan on utilizing what we have on hand. It Couldn't Just Happen is a book that my two oldest have read when they did Classical Conversations Challenge A and they enjoyed it so I am having Goosey run through it.
